The Theyyam/ Kaliyattam performer wears an oversized headgear, mask, breastplates, skirt (udaiyada), and arm ornaments. The dancers spend hours preparing themselves for the ritual. The performance is no small feat, as the dancers bend far over despite the weight of the headgear.
We have reworked our original piece to add a dash of color.
